Hydrogen sulphide (H2S) protection
Ask a Question about this Product Uniteam's H2S TR-shelter system (Temporary Refugee) is based upon the use of absolute gas safe container buildings in order to save lives in extreme H2S environments in the onshore oil and gas exploration/production areas. The protection against the H2S-gas (Hydrogen Sulphide) is particularly challenging. The gas is extremely poisonous and lethal in concentrations above 600-700 ppm1. The TR shelters are designed to operate in concentrations as high as 500 000 ppm H2S due to the generated positive air-pressure inside the shelter.
Uniteam has for years designed and built gas-tight systems for clients around the world to protect military personnel against NBC attacks, and has used this experience to create solutions to suit off-/on-shore operations. Few, if any, companies in the world possess our extensive knowledge and experience.
The TR-shelter systems are designed with the use of a multiple of 40’ containers put together to form rather large and open rooms. The joints of the containers are made gas tight by use of an especially Uniteam patented gasket. Equipped with an array of various gas-detectors, the building will, in a situation of emergency, be over- pressurized and ducts to the outside environment will be shut by dampers.
Normally, the TR-shelter may have a dual or multiple functions i.e. shelter, canteen and/or office. The air-locks for entry into the TR, will under normal conditions be open. However, during an emergency, the doors in/out of the air-locks are controlled by a PLC-system that purges extra air into the air-locks to get rid of eventual impurities, and hence increase the safety for people inside the shelter.
Uniteam has also designed, constructed and delivered a TR-building for 500 persons set upon a specially constructed barge for the Kashagan D-island field in the Caspian Sea.
The TR-shelters are always delivered A60or A120 and can also be delivered blast-proofed up to 650 mbar/100 msec.
